11:30am Service
Let kings before him fall,
his might and majesty proclaim
and crown him, crown him, crown him,
crown him Lord of all.
Come crown him, moon and stars of night:
he made you, great and small.
Bright sun, praise him who gave you light,
and crown him, crown him, crown him,
crown him Lord of all.
Crown him, you martyrs, spurning pain,
who witnessed to his call;
now sing your victory-song again
and crown, crown him, crown him,
crown him Lord of all.
Let all who trust in Christ exclaim
in wonder, to recall
the one who bore our sin and shame
and crown him, crown him, crown him,
crown him Lord of all.
Then in that final judgement hour
when all rebellions fall,
we’ll rise in his triumphant power
and crown him, crown him, crown him,
crown him Lord of all.
When the enemy surrounds and my heart grows faint within
When the darkness overwhelms and my fears are pressing in
I will trust in You, O Lord, in the silence I will wait
I will stand upon Your Word
You’re my solid rock and my salvation
My steadfast hope that won’t be shaken
My soul will wait, my soul will wait for You
You’re my stronghold and my shield, in the midst of every threat
Though the wicked never yield, they will vanish like a breath
Yes, I know the outcome’s sure, Satan’s evil plans will fail
In Your power I’m secure
You’re my solid rock and my salvation
My steadfast hope that won’t be shaken
My soul will wait, my soul will wait for You
You’re my comfort when I feel forsaken
My refuge and my sure foundation
My soul will wait, my soul will wait for You
This is love I can’t explain, this is mercy unreserved
Through Your sacrifice so great, I have peace that’s undeserved
For the battle has been won, and I fear no shame or loss
Now the sting of death is gone
You’re my solid rock…
CONFESSION
Leader: Do not bring your servant into judgment, for no-one living is righteous before you. Psalm 143:2 N
Together: Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, maker of all things, judge of all people, we acknowledge and confess the grievous sins and wickedness which we have so often committed in thought, word and deed against your divine majesty, provoking most justly your anger and indignation against us. We earnestly repent, and are deeply sorry for these our wrongdoings; the memory of them weighs us down, the burden of them is too great for us to bear. Have mercy upon us, have mercy upon us, most merciful Father, for your Son our Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, forgive us all that is past; and grant that from this time onwards we may always serve and please you in newness of life, to the honour and glory of your name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Leader: God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! Romans 5:8-9 NIV
Our Shepherd’s words are all upright
Arranged for wisdom and delight
Unchanging and without decay,
They lead us on in God’s good way
Earth’s lesser wisdom strives and looks,
Wearies itself with countless books,
But builds on sand and not on stone
For truth is found in God alone.
God will reveal each secret thing:
Injustice, sin, and suffering,
The hidden works of faith and love,
Made known by our great judge above.
So you may rise with joy that day
Cast vanity and sin away
Come serve your Lord with heart and hands:
Fear God and do what He commands.
Abide with me, fast falls the eventide;
the darkness deepens: Lord, with me abide!
when other helpers fail and comforts flee,
help of the helpless, O abide with me.
Swift to it’s close ebbs out life’s little day;
earth’s joys grow dim, its glories pass away;
change and decay in all around I see:
you never change, O Lord; abide with me.
I need your presence every passing hour;
what but your grace can foil the tempter’s power?
Who like yourself my guide and strength can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.
I fear no foe with you at hand to bless;
ills have no weight and tears no bitterness.
Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, your victory?
I triumph still if you abide with me.
Hold, Lord, your cross before my closing eyes;
shine through the gloom and point me to the skies:
heaven’s morning breaks and earth’s vain shadow’s flee;
in life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.
What is our hope in life and death?
Christ alone, Christ alone.
What is our only confidence?
That our souls to Him belong.
Who holds our days within His hand?
What comes, apart from His command?
And what will keep us to the end?
The love of Christ, in which we stand.
O sing hallelujah!
Our hope springs eternal;
O sing hallelujah!
Now and ever we confess
Christ our hope in life and death.
What truth can calm the troubled soul?
God is good, God is good.
Where is His grace and goodness known?
In our great Redeemer’s blood.
Who holds our faith when fears arise?
Who stands above the stormy trial?
Who sends the waves that bring us nigh
Unto the shore, the rock of Christ?
O sing hallelujah…
Unto the grave, what shall we sing?
“Christ, He lives; Christ, He lives!”
And what reward will heaven bring?
Everlasting life with Him.
There we will rise to meet the Lord,
Then sin and death will be destroyed,
And we will feast in endless joy,
When Christ is ours forevermore.
O sing hallelujah…
