One to one

Got some questions you really want answered? Or do you just want someone to give you a bit of a helping hand? Get in touch and we’ll fix you up with someone who would love to meet up over coffee and help you out. It’s a great way to get to know an older Christian at St Andrew the Great and learn lots at the same time.

Jonnie Deja, a third year economist at Clare, writes:

As I come towards the end of my time as a student, I can see that meeting one to one with an older Christian was one of the most significant ways that God has helped me to get to know him better. We really got stuck into the Bible, and wrestled through the challenges it presented to the way I thought and lived. It was also a great opportunity to be open and honest about the issues I was really struggling with, chat them through with someone who had been round the track and pray over them.

Meera Srinivasan, on our Student Staff, writes:

It did seem a little weird at first, but once I got started, I loved reading the Bible with an older Christian when I was a student. It was a great chance to ask all my questions about the Bible, to get advice from someone wiser and more mature, and just be friends with someone a little bit older. We’re still friends now; she’s always in touch and praying for me. I found it so useful that I’ve been reading one to one with girls younger than me since then. I’d really recommend reading one to one with someone.
