16th-19th and 19th-22nd March 2012
The Great Escapes are our fun-packed, friendship-making students getaway in a country house in Norfolk. They're a brilliant chance to deepen some of the friendships made over the year, as well as get to know some of the older members of the congregation better. There's loads of time to kick-back and relax after a long term: play some sport, go for country walks, get stuck into the wide game, read the papers, be entertained in the evenings and eat a lot of cake!
In 2011 we thought about the work of the Spirit. The talks are available for download.
For 2012 our main speaker will be Charlie Skrine who heads up the Student Team at St Helen's Bishopsgate in London. Charlie is married to Claire and they have two sons - Tom and Ed. If we're lucky the whole family might join us!
Charlie's going to take us through the whole Bible showing us how God's unfolding rescue plan takes shape. And as well at that Brian Elfick will be helping us get to the very heart of Christianity as we think about the Cross together.

I have been away on the Great Escapes twice now, but certainly haven't tired of them. With a healthy dose of Bible teaching, the chance to make plenty of firm friends, and even a good wrestle in the mud, they're a great time of refreshment. It definitely set me up well for the coming term!

Going on a Great Escape gives you a golden chance to really get to know people you've only had a fleeting conversation with. Alongside great company, fun and food, the meaty Bible teaching at the centre of everything meant I came away from it feeling I needed another few days to soak up everything I'd heard!
