St Andrew the Great church, Cambridge

What is a Summer Venture?

Summer ventures are an opportunity for young people to spend time away from home learning about the Christian faith and enjoying an action-packed holiday. They need volunteers of all ages and with all levels of experience to help in a whole variety of ways—from peeling potatoes to leading a Bible study, from washing-up to giving a talk. Leaders and Assistant Leaders are asked to contribute towards the cost of their food and accommodation, but some bursaries are available—please ask for further details.

Sounds like hard work?

Ventures are a great opportunity to learn what Christian service is all about—from front-line evangelism to making sure that 80 hungry teenagers get fed on time! For many, ventures will provide a first opportunity to lead a Bible study, give a talk or lead someone to Christ. You can pick up valuable tips from people who’ve been doing them for years. But whether you’re behind the scenes or up at the front, you’ll be a valuable part of the team.
